Emcee Sharlyn graciously welcomed Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, alongside Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Communications and Information and the Ministry of Health, and Government Whip, Dr. Janil Puthucheary, to the event.
Emcee Sharlyn also extended a warm welcome to the guests and audience attending the launch event, expressing her gratitude for the privilege of serving as their emcee for the said occasion.
With much enthusiasm, Sharlyn said that notable visitors from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United States, and Germany were present, having traveled especially for the occasion. She pointed out that some of them had flown in especially for the event, and that some others were only going to be there for a few hours before leaving right away.
Emcee Sharlyn elucidated that there was a sentimental reason behind why they had chosen this venue for that day’s event. It was likely to be the last major event, as Singtel Comcentre was slated for redevelopment, and all staff would be relocated soon. That day marked a milestone, and we were indeed privileged and honored to have all the guests present to witness such a momentous occasion. The event unveiled Singtel’s new brand identity for newly established regional data center business. Singtel launched a new category of green, sustainable, hyper-connected, AI-optimized data centers to support the advancement of Singapore’s Smart Nation and NAIS 2.0 plans.
She applauded the speech delivered by Mr. Bill Chang, expressing appreciation for his remarks. Following Mr. Chang’s address, Emcee Sharlyn then extended an invitation to the guest of honor, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr. Heng Swee Keat. The best bilingual emcee also extended her applause and gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat for his insightful and wonderful speech. She also took a moment to elaborate on the tradition of the lion dance, emphasizing its significance as one of the auspicious activities. In this tradition, the lion is “brought to life” following the eye-dotting ceremony, symbolizing its role in bestowing luck, health, prosperity, and protection. As the event embraced the modern digital age, she explained that attendees would have the unique opportunity to witness this ceremonial moment where distinguished VIPs would apply colors to the launch symbol X, imbuing it with life, energy, and power.
Upon Emcee Sharlyn’s cue, the VIPs filled it with color, infusing it with life and energy! As observed on the big screen, the X symbol was now energized with vibrant hues, each color carefully added by our esteemed guests. Symbolically, they breathed life into the X symbol, reminiscent of the vivacity seen in a traditional lion dance.
